College of Tourism and Hotel Management is delighted to welcome Mr. Fahad Ashraf, Vice President Coke Pakistan. Despite the high-profile challenges and rewards of running a portion of an international company Coke Pakistan, Mr. Ashraf said the part of the job he most enjoys is getting to serve in a mentoring role to others and helping in their professional development. College students met Mr. Fahad, who discussed his career path and answered questions about Coke’s operations and job opportunities. CEO and founder of COTHM, Mr. Ahmad Shafiq offered brief welcome remarks before turning the session over to the students, highlighting that this important collaboration is truly about developing the next generation of hospitality leaders, and supporting and empowering them to transform the world for good. “It’s such a great opportunity for our students to hear people speak that have pivotal positions with some of the biggest companies in the world like The Coca-Cola Company,” Mr. Shafiq said. “Mr. Ashraf offered insight that went far beyond my expectations, he spoke beyond the position description of his role as CEO and enlightened those present about the true character of a leader”, he further added. We look forward to working with Mr. Shafiq to build relationships, foster international growth, and provide experiences for COTHM students,” said Fahad Ashraf. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade got a fresh new look at this year’s New York International Auto Show, showing off a refreshed design, a new steering wheel, and a wider center console screen inside. There’s also a new, semi-rugged XRT model similar to the dark-themed trims found on the Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Fe. As the company’s flagship model, the hefty SUV can be equipped up to a hefty sum, but you get a lot for your money. Don’t Over-XRT YourselfBilled as “rugged,” the Palisade XRT is proven to be more of a light-off-road-oriented trim level by its availability with front-wheel drive (all-wheel drive is optional). The XRT FWD features darker 20-inch wheels, a darker grille, black roof side rails, cross rails, body colored door handles, new lower bumpers with skid plate accents, new lower door garnish, and inside you get black leatherette seating and a power sunroof. The XRT AWD builds on those features with the brand’s HTRAC all-wheel drive system, downhill brake control mode, AWD lock, and special Snow and Tow drive modes. The Tow mode will hold on to gears a little longer and reduces the frequency of gear shifts. What Else Is New?Along with updated styling for 2023, the new Palisade also gets a new paint color: Robust Emerald. For those in cold climates, perhaps the best new feature on the 2023 Palisade is the heated third row of seating. Second-row passengers get new ventilated seats and wing-out headrests, and are now protected with new side-impact airbags, bringing the total airbag count in the car up to 9. There’s new ambient lighting themes for the redesigned dashboard, and an available digital rear-view mirror. The wireless phone charging dock has been updated for faster charge times, and the Hyundai Digital Key is now available, which allows you to use your mobile device to open the doors and start the vehicle. The 2023 model year also adds new USB-C charge points throughout the cabin. There are no changes to the powertrain, retaining the Palisade’s 3.8-liter V-6 engine good for 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Available safety features include Hyundai’s Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance, and Remote Smart Parking.
