Overtime, I learnt to grow unbothered by it. However, once I started showing interest in makeup, those pesky pimples became an annoyance as the products I placed over them caked around the pimple — I could never achieve the “flawless foundation routine” that many Youtubers brag about. Over the past decade, I have tried countless acne products and while none worked long-term, I continued my hunt for the product that could treat my spots. Carrying on this journey, I’m going to be sharing my routine on how I incorporate Hiruscar’s Anti-acne Spot Gel and Post-Acne Spot Gel into my daily routine. Let me start off with Hiruscar’s Anti-acne Spot Gel. This gel works to remove dead skin cells and control sebum secretion. All the while balancing skin’s moisture level, reducing acne recurrence, and sooth redness caused by breakouts. Now, let’s have a look at their ingredient list! Ingredients1. Hyaluronic acid, skincare’s most famous ingredient! Hyaluronic acid draws moisture from the surrounding air to ensure your skin remains well hydrated. I remember that I once thought that my oily, acne-prone skin wasn’t deserving of moisture because it produced enough on its own. Well, I soon realized that was nothing but a myth! Hydration is necessary for all skin types — oily, dry, or combination! 2. MPS (it’s a long, science-y name that I will save you from seeing) essentially helps speed up the productivity of hyaluronic acid. 3. Salicylic acid — every acne-prone person’s favourite ingredient! It works as an exfoliant, removing dead skin cells, and helps to unblock your pores 4. Allium Cepa which aids in reducing acne breakouts 5. Bisabolol and Aloe Leaf, both great ingredients that soothes irritated skin! 6. Vitamin C an antioxidant known to help lighten acne scarring/hyperpigmentation 7. Laricyl that has pore-tightening and moisturizing benefits for your skin Here’s how I use it: (you can adapt it to your own routine!)1. Cleanse my face 2. Use my toner right after 3. Moisturize, never forget to moisturize! 4. Apply the Anti-acne Spot Gel right on my breakout Hiruscar’s Post-acne GelIngredients1. MPS and Allium Cepa but we already discussed all the good stuff above 🙂 2. Allantoin improves cell regeneration and removes dead cells which helps with scarring! 3. Vitamin B3 improves elasticity of scar tissue and helps control oil production What does it do?Hiruscar’s Post-acne Gel completes the acne care package by lightening pimple scars and dark marks while smoothening depressed pimple scars. The gel also helps to prevent pimple reoccurrence! Alcohol as an ingredient in skincare products tends to dry and irritate sensitive skin. The great thing about the Post-acne Gel is that it has none of it — which is why it’s great for those with sensitive acne-prone skin! Trying the products on my skin!
I have used these two products over the course of one month, and as you can see from the pictures above, my acne scars lightened, and I experienced fewer breakouts than the last time! The combination of the products was effective and made a clear difference in my skin. As seen in the photos above, the products even helped to reduce the appearance of my depressed pimple scars from when I refused to take care of my skin during puberty (we’ve all been there). One thing I noticed was that the Anti-acne Spot Gel was a little drying (probably due to the salicylic acid!). What I found helpful was to apply a good amount of my moisturizer beforehand and follow up by placing the product exactly on the breakout! As with all changes, consistency is key. I noticed that applying the two products regularly 2-3 times (which is the recommended application) a day proves more effective than applying it once at night as one would with other topical acne products. My Final Thoughts!These two products complement each other in targeting acne breakouts from the start of a breakout to dealing with the scars. Not only does the Hiruscar products improve overall appearance of acne breakouts, it also helped to prevent reoccurrence of acne. I also love how their products are also hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, which means that they’re gentle on sensitive skin and won’t irritate it further.
