Trunks still has one of the best entrances in anything, ever

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is still a thing, and Bandai Namco isn’t missing any chances to pump out as much DLC as possible for it. Amid several large updates for the game, the publisher also just dropped its third major DLC.

It’s called “Trunks: Warrior of Hope,” and it’s dubbed the “final DLC drop” for the game. The trailer below gives us a glimpse into what it entails, as the premise is set around a “familiar world with a different timeline,” in which the Androids are in control. Weirdly, it seems as if Alexis Tipton is voicing young Future Trunks instead of Eric Vale: the latter of which is the fan favorite.

As a reminder, the season pass is still $24.99, but hopefully we’ll get an eventual “GOTY Edition” at some point. There’s also the curious case of the Switch port, which Bandai Namco says doesn’t exist. If it is real, and it does get announced, I can see them doing a GOTY version then.

Speaking of DBZ, I’m still in awe of this classic scene with Trunks. The first time I saw it on grainy 240p video blew me away.

DBZ Kakarot season pass includes Trunks

Bandai Namco has made a couple of new announcements for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, as the game is getting a Season Pass 2 which includes brand new DLC based on the “Bardock: The Father of Goku” TV special.

With the Bardock DLC, players will be able to “experience the intense battles fought by Bardock and his compatriots when they invaded planets as members of the Frieza Force.” The story “will culminate in the tragic fate that befell the Saiyan race at the hands of Frieza himself”. Players will even be able to explore parts of Planet Vegeta, including a Saiyan community, the Frieza Force base, and more.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Season Pass 2 will be comprised of Bardock: Alone Against Fate and two more pieces of content. You can check out a new trailer below.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot previously received DLC with A New Power Awakens – Part 1 and Part 2, both of which were bundled with the Switch version. This featured characters and storylines from Dragon Ball Super, including Super Saiyan God transformations. Later on, the game received DLC based on Future Trunks’ timeline from The History of Trunks. This came to Switch as part of pots-launch DLC.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is now available on Switch.

DBZ Kakarot season pass includes Trunks

When Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot released on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, it delivered the usual tales; ones of hardship, rivalries and friendship. Now though, the best part of 18 months since launch, those tales are expanding with the chance to join the life of Trunks in the new The Warrior of Hope story arc.

Present and correct right now, ready to add into your base Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game is the new Trunks – The Warrior of Hope DLC. It’s priced up at £15.99 from the Xbox Store, which is fairly hefty for any DLC drop, but what’s included is potentially rich for fans of Dragon Ball.

You see, it adds in a whole new story arc, one in which players will get the chance to experience the fiercest fight of Trunks’ life; a story in which Goku has died. It’s here where you come in, trying to protect the world from an android invasion as both Trunks, and Gohan, attempt to save the planet they are on.

Playable without needing to complete the main story first, this new The Warrior of Hope DLC adds in that story arc, along with new Super Attacks, additional Soul Emblems and more. If you’re a fan of what Dragon Ball Z is able to deliver in terms of universe and lore, or just want to see Trunks rise to the occasion in the Kakarot experience, grabbing a copy of the DLC is a bit of a no-brainer.

What’s more of a no-brainer is the fact that it is included in the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Season Pass. When you consider that Season Pass gives full access to this new content, plus the previously available A New Power Awakens, and the asking price is only £19.99, that’s probably the best way to go.

You’ll find the base game, the Season Pass and the new Trunks – The Warrior of Hope DLC available from a digital store near you. Our favourite is that of the Xbox Store.

Are Goten and Trunks playable in kakarot?

It's surprising that the game even allows players to control Goten in the first place, even though Goku's youngest child barely has a role to play in the major battles of the series outside of his fusion with Trunks. Perhaps this is why players can only control Goten for the briefest of instances.
