CommentaryThis is a speaker system based on the DS 251 with improved performance and design. A newly developed 25 cm cone type woofer is mounted in the low range. This unit uses a 4 mm thick aluminum die-cast frame to increase mechanical strength and eliminate resonance and vibration of the frame itself. The cone paper is strong enough to withstand the acoustic air suspension system's internal sound pressure. The voice coil uses a heat-resistant thermosetting adhesive to improve input resistance. A 5 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range. A 3 cm cone type super tweeter is installed in the super high range. The diaphragm of this unit uses hard aluminum with an effective vibration radius of 1.2 cm and a thickness of 70 μ m and is finished by precision press. The front baffle is equipped with a step-type level control that can set the high frequency range of 2 kHz or more to 3 steps with a vertical width of 3 dB. You can also turn the Super Tweeter ON / OFF with this level control. The enclosure uses an acoustic air suspension system to improve transient characteristics and distortion in the low frequency range. In addition, an edgeless cabinet is adopted in which the edge around the baffle plate is removed from the conventional design in which the outer periphery of the front baffle protrudes, and directivity over a wide frequency band is improved. Stainless steel pipe is used for the front net.
