Ford revealed its redesigned 2023 F-Series Super Duty in September, and on Thursday the automaker confirmed pricing and a number of key specs. Show Sales of the 2023 F-Series Super Duty start next spring and pricing is confirmed to start at $45,765, including a $1,795 destination charge. Buyers will be able to choose from F-250, F-350, and F-450 models, as well as from a trio of powertrains. The base engine is a newly developed 6.8-liter V-8 rated at 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. It will do the job but anyone serious about towing will want to upgrade to either the 7.3-liter V-8, rated at 430 hp and 485 lb-ft, or the 6.7-liter V-8 turbodiesel .  The 7.3-liter V-8 delivers a maximum tow rating of 22,000 lb, available in the F-350 4×4 with dually rear wheels. It also has a maximum payload of 8,000 lb, albeit with rear-wheel drive and the Heavy-Duty Payload Package fitted. The turbodiesel exists on another level when it comes to towing. The engine comes in standand and High Output forms. The standard version delivers 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft torque, while the High Output version bumps those figures to 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft. The High Output diesel is the option to go for if maximum towing capacity is desired. With a gooseneck configuration, towing capacity is rated at a high of 40,000 lb in the F-450, or 4,000 lb higher than the maximum towing for the rival Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD (both rivals have been updated for 2024). The towing capacity drops to 38,000 lb with a gooseneck in the F-350, to 35,000 lb with a fifth wheel trailer in the F-450 dually, and to a low of 23,000 lb with conventional towing in the F-250. Production of the 2023 F-Series Super Duty is handled at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at the automaker’s Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. However, we are writing specifically about F-350 truck because the first spy photos are already here. Of course, the F-250 and F-450 models will get the same refreshments. The F-350 prototype has been spotted doing some testing, mostly on-road. Interestingly, it is the prototype of the Platinum trim level. While we expect various exterior and interior changes, nothing will change under the hood. Engine SpecsThe engine options for the future 2023 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum will be the same as those offered by Blue Oval now. Diesel and gasoline engines are still available for purchase in their existing versions. The base model is powered by a 7.3-liter V8 petrol engine with 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. According to Ford, this is the most powerful gasoline engine on the market right now. Furthermore, the maker features a turbodiesel engine for improved performance. These trucks are powered by a 6.7-liter diesel engine that produces 475 horsepower and 1050 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, when properly equipped, Super Duty F-350 trucks can pull around 37,000 pounds. Some sources claim that the diesel engine will offer somewhat higher torque, but Ford has not confirmed this. The prototype shown here is dressed in Platinum trim level, as shown by the chrome highlights on the door mirror caps and the bottom of the window surrounds. The 2023 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum also wears black wheels. This leads us to the Tremor off-road package. Only this package currently offers the same wheels. The presence of black wheels on this prototype, on the other hand, is notable. Currently, the Tremor Off-Road Package is the only option to purchase black wheels on an F-350 Platinum. Right now, the Tremor package is available on King Ranch and Platinum trim levels. XLT no longer offers this off-road kit, unfortunately. While the prototype wears heavy camouflage, we can spot nice upgrades. Generally, new F-350 model borrows a lot of things from the F-150 light-duty pickup truck. Premium InteriorThe 2023 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum is more premium than the base trim level. Because of that, the level of luxury is naturally higher. The Platinum variant delivers gorgeous Dark Marsala interior color schemes. On top of that, it comes with ambient lighting, leather seats and various Smoke Metallic accents. Furthermore, F-350 Platinum provides standard features such as forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. The cabin will also host a 12-inch touchscreen using a new SYNC4 infotainment system. Generally, the Platinum trim level provides a true SUV-like cabin with premium comfort and lots of high-tech features. F-350 Platinum Release Date, PriceThe upcoming 2023 Ford Super Duty F-350 Platinum will cost around $70,000 or slightly higher than that. On the other hand, the base trim level starts at $36,500.
