Carl zeiss 35 f2.4 review năm 2024

Definitely the most versatile lens I own, picked this up with a Zeiss Jenna 135 f3.5 2x pentacon 50mm f1.8 and a Practika mtl 5B for a reasonable £38 (another Gumtree bargain).

This 35mm works well with my Zhongyi Lens Turbo II and also my Raynox DCR 150 to further enhance its already excellent close focus capabilities. Its sharp wide open and very compact I can't fault it at all and always take it out with me.

Pros

Sharp (even wide open) fastish f2.4, close focus at 0.2m, compact, well built

Cons

none for me

Absolutely stunning imagery Caledonia. Great composition and use of selective focus. I especially like the shot of the butterfly. Excellent use of this lens and hats off to you.

This is my next lens. Not sure were I can get one for £38 though. All the ones I'm seeing on eBay.com are more like $100. Even been tracking them on co.uk

Lovely photos OP !

<later> looks like the ones I'm watching on eBay are now upto $150 and counting. Anyone care to comment how the Flektagon compares with the Mir 1 ?

I've briefly looked into this lens in the past... Looks like I'm going to have to look again. What mount is it?

Gumtree! I rarely spend much on camera gear I've had some amazing finds on there (om 20mm f2 macro for £45!) The American equivalent is Craigslist I think. I just set up a search for "camera" within a 75 mile radius and check it daily.

Yes and no - the Praktica Bayonet 35/2.4 is the same lens - at least according to the repairman I sent the one I bought on ebay UK to have the sticky aperture blades cleaned. Full name "Prakticar 1:2.4 f=35mm MC Carl Zeiss Jena". It certainly looks and feels just like my M42 version of the famous Flek.

Sooner or later the word will get out about the true CZJ lenses in PB, there are some really good lenses, including a re-mounted 20/2.8 Flektogon, a 50/1.4 and a 55/2.8 macro. But for the time being, the PB lenses are generally much cheaper than their M42 equivalents. A word of caution - there are later lenses in PB mount, also labelled CZJ, but made under licence in Japan, and they're OK but not true German CZJ. Mostly mid-range and tele zooms.

The Nikon Zf is a 24MP full-frame mirrorless camera with classic looks that adds the latest Expeed 7 processor and features such as 3D Tracking AF to the $2000 price bracket. We're not sure the experience lives up to the looks.

Above $2500 cameras tend to become increasingly specialized, making it difficult to select a 'best' option. We case our eye over the options costing more than $2500 but less than $4000, to find the best all-rounder.

What is a 35mm f2 lens good for?

By default then it's great for portraits and all around shooting, and the Bokeh at this focal length at the maximum aperture of f2 is really nice. The only alternative to this lens is the Fuji 35mm 1.4 which is a bit bigger, more expensive and not WR.

What is the history of the flektogon?

The very first Flektogon was produced by Carl Zeiss Jena in August 1949, and only 250 copies were produced, most likely to be used with the Contax S camera. The first production lenses were released in February 1952, which had twelve aperture blades, and were occasionally missing a front filter thread.
