Do you have a hankering for tasty vegan-friendly coffee? Are you visiting Da Nang and worried that you won’t find any great plant-based milk options for your morning dose of the good stuff? Or are you on the lookout for some heart attack inducing local Vietnamese coffee to try? Well, I have put together all of my favourite vegan-friendly coffee spots in Da Nang so you don’t waste any time searching for great tasting coffee when visiting this beautiful city! Some of these spots are fully vegan, others offer some great plant-based milk options for your coffee and others just make really good coffee that doesn’t need milk. Therefore, I hope I can provide you with a real variety of awesome spots for you to check out whilst in Da Nang. You can feel safe in the knowledge that these are all really great coffee shops serving up delicious coffee, since these are all establishments that I frequent myself when in Da Nang. Dng
If you are a fan of oat milk and iced lattes then you’ll love Dng. Their iced oat milk lattes are what dreams are made of. And for those who prefer their oat milk lattes hot, trust me when I say that you’ll want it iced when visiting Da Nang during the summer months. But if you are made of tougher stuff than me, then you’ll also enjoy their non-iced version. The coffee they use really complements the oat milk and they get the balance just right. It is quite easily the best iced oat milk latte you’ll get in Da Nang. And trust me, I’ve tried them all! Their coffee shop has fast become my favourite digital nomad working spot because the coffee is insanely good. I just can’t stop going back for more! Plus, it is really well air conditioned inside and when it is a bit windy I really enjoy sitting outside. LANG3
Coming in a close second with their iced oat milk latte is LANG3. You can either sit inside their cafe or order one to go out front. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and chatty, so beware introverts! You can replace the cow’s milk in any of their coffees with oat milk for a extra fee. Meaning you can also try out a vegan version of a coconut coffee here. On top of this, they have a great food menu with plenty of plant-based options, albeit a little pricey for Da Nang. They have plenty of tables to sit at in their cafe with seats perfect for getting comfy in and settling into a good book or tables set up for remote working. iVegan
If you prefer to drink your oat milk coffees in 100% vegan establishments, then you should head on down to iVegan. Not only do they offer oat milk to create lattes (iced and hot), but they also do the best vegan coconut coffee. With iVegan also being a plant-based restaurant, it can get a little busy at lunch time, especially in the outside area. So you may not find yourself being able to relax for hours with a book here. But they do have a dedicate remote work area upstairs if you want to whack out your laptop and get some work done! They also offer a few different cakes as well as protein balls, so you can have something to tuck into whilst enjoying your coffee. Roots
Whilst Roots is at the top of my list of the best vegan restaurants in Da Nang, unfortunately their coffee doesn’t top this list. There is nothing wrong with it, but I just prefer oat milk to cashew milk. That being said, they do make their own cashew milk from locally grown cashews, meaning it is a much more sustainable plant-based milk option! You can get their cashew milk made into a cappuccino (iced or hot) or put on the side of any other coffees on their menu. They also make a local style coffee which is mixed in with coconut milk and is perfect for anyone with a sweeter palate. All of their coffee is made using Arabica beans, which is great for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the taste of local coffee made using Robusta beans. Bamboo Bob
If you are hoping to try local coffee then you should hop on down to Bamboo Bob. Perch yourself on a tiny sit outside and enjoy a phin coffee or a iced black phin coffee. But beware, these are pretty strong coffees so they definitely aren’t for the faint hearted. I personally can only drink 2 coffees a day, and if I choose to have a local coffee from Bamboo Bob then I have to limit that to only 1, otherwise I feel my heart may implode. All warnings aside, this coffee is seriously tasty and perfect as a pre-workout or pre-work pick me up. It is also a really cool spot to hangout and meet up with friends. They also open later on Wednesdays so you can make the most of the affordable beer and wine they sell. Although, I am not sure if their wine is vegan as I haven’t ordered it myself yet. Lu Coffee
Lu Coffee is one of my favourite spots to read a book in. I regularly spend hours here making my way through one of their delicious cold brew coffees or fruit juices. They do have almond milk on their menu, but I prefer to drink their cold brew coffee. It is really tasty and refreshing. Plus, if you can’t handle too much coffee I find their cold brew is a lot gentler than americanos and phin coffee. Lu Coffee is also a very popular spot for digital nomads, meaning it can get pretty packed in here. Thankfully, they have a few different styles of seating that are less comfortable for people to work from, so you’ll likely still find a seat to relax yourself into! The Hideout Cafe
One thing I discovered in Vietnam is the magic of mixing fruit with cold brew coffee, and The Hideout Cafe do this really well! Their orange cold brew coffee is really well balanced and makes for a great refreshment on the hot summer days in Da Nang. They don’t have any vegan milk options on their menu, but you can also order a side of vegan spring rolls to eat alongside your cold brew. It is situated a bit further away from the beach than the other coffee spots here, which may be useful for anyone who is staying a bit more central. The cafe itself has a really nice outside seating area as well as plenty of seating inside, making it is popular with remote workers. Other coffee shops in Da NangNow if there is anything that Da Nang isn’t short of, it is coffee shops. You really won’t miss out on coffee here, or in the rest of Vietnam to be exact. That being said, this list I have presented to you features my personal favourite spots that I frequent when in Da Nang. This doesn’t mean that other coffee shops in Da Nang aren’t also great for vegans, it really does just come down to personal opinion! Although, there is one coffee shop in Da Nang that I was really drawn into trying, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster, that didn’t quite meet the mark. It is built in an industrial style, which always catches my attention. But unfortunately, I found the environment to be a little pretentious and the coffee was massively overpriced. Their cheapest coffee was at 100,000vnd and it went up past 300,000vnd. I wouldn’t even spend that in pricey UK. It arrived in a measuring jug with details of the coffee beans, but it just tasted like watered down coffee. So, whilst I would recommend trying out other coffee shops around Da Nang and discovering whether they have plant-based milk options for vegans, I would suggest avoiding this one place!
