Full Moon on  the 3rd is called "Buck Moon" by Native Americans of New England and the Great Lakes because at this time of the year, the new antlers of the buck deer begin to appear.  It's also called the "Thunder Moon" due to all the summer storms.

Perseids Meteor Shower: From July 17to August 24.  It peaks on August 12-23 with up to 60 meteors per hour.

July 28-29:  Delta Aquarids Meteor shower.  (About 20 meteors per hour.)
