So prepare your wands, put on your wizard robe and start exploring this incredibly magical world of Hogwarts which is an amazing homage to Harry Potter universe which set the bar so high, that not even Levioso could put other games on the same level. I'm not someone you'd call a "fan" of the Wizarding World, at least not in the sense where I've got my own wand or want to down a butterbeer. I enjoy and appreciate the world that was built and the characters in it, but it's not like I got fully sucked in. That changed a little after a few dozen hours of playing Hogwarts Legacy. If you're a fan, you're in heaven, and if you're not ... well, this game might not make you love magic, but you'll certainly want to like it. While the open-world elements of the game make it feel more dated than we'd have liked, it's otherwise the best the Wizarding World has been in a video game. Hogwarts Legacy delivers a perfectly competent adventure, but its most unforgivable curse is its lack of imagination. Despite having access to an entire universe of possibilities, its sole trick is using magic to cover up tired video game clichés that feel entirely disconnected from the vibrant source material it’s adapting. The only unique aspect it brings to the open-world genre is franchise branding, making for a shallow experience that doesn’t offer much more than wish fulfillment for fans unable to let go of a dream. Hogwarts Legacy on the PS5 was an absolute delight! I felt completely immersed in the magical world, and my inner child was overjoyed. What I liked about the game was the castle and how magical the developers made the environment to be. The world outside of the castle is a bit weaker, with most of the POIs indistinguishable from each other. Some tasks felt repetitive and there was some backtracking needed for specific tasks. The cast in the game was diverse which is definitely a plus. For people who don't play many games and who are fans of the Harry Potter IP, this game will definitely be a 10/10. The nostalgic value of the Harry Potter franchise carried me through the game. Afterwards I was more annoyed than satisified with the game, the side quests are incredibly dull, hogwarts is filled with nothing but collectables and the outside world is more existing, but the activities are fairly bland. The main story is extremely safe and the dialogue mostly boring, especially your own character making the most basic comments all the time.
