The Misfit Command hybrid wristwatch pairs classic analogue style with modern tracking technology, producing an elegant smartwatch for the traditionalist. Beneath its sleek surface is an abundance of tracking tools, monitoring steps, distance, calories and sleep data. Unlike most trackers, this watch’s battery lasts for a year. Meanwhile, the intelligent Link App allows the watch to act as a smart controller, to take a picture, play music or make a missing phone ring. The Misfit Command comes with four different face options, and numerous strap options, in different materials. Read more So what are those smarts? Well, you’ll be able to track things like steps, calories burned, distance, and even sleep, information that you can see within the connected app. On top of that, you won’t have to worry too much about taking the watch off for water-based activities — it comes with water resistance of up to 50 meters, and it has a battery life of one year. At the end of that year, you’ll need to get the battery replaced. Don’t think you won’t be able to use this device to get notifications — you can create customized alerts for all the standard things, including calls, texts, emails, and so on, thanks to the small subeye with different graphic indications for the type of notification that you’ve received. And, there’s a programmable “smart button” on the device that allows you to do things like control music playback or connect to other devices. Perhaps the best thing about the Misfit Command is its design — it offers a classic, stylish look and comes in a few different color choices, including Black Steel, Black Copper, Navy Blue, and Steel. As you might expect, you can also change out the straps of the device thanks to the standard 20mm design. The device in general seems like a great option for those that want to bring some smarts to their wrist but don’t really want to dive into a full-fledged display-based smartwatch like the Misfit Vapor. That may make sense for some — though the Vapor in general got some pretty good initial reviews when it was shown off at the beginning of the year. Since then, the device has moved from Misfit’s propriety software to Android Wear 2.0, Google’s latest and greatest version of its wearable operating system. CES 2023: Fossil’s latest hybrid smartwatch is the anti-Pixel Watch Fossil’s latest Gen 6 smartwatch could be seen as the anti-Google Pixel Watch. It’s a hybrid smartwatch, so there’s no bright AMOLED touchscreen here, and while it doesn’t come with Fitbit’s health platform, it has its own special fitness talents. You won’t have to pay a subscription to see all your data in six months' time either. It’s called the Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition, which is a rubbish name for what is an intriguing product. The Gen 6 Hybrid watches use a modestly sized E-Ink screen with physical hands and a backlight, so you can always see the time and your relevant health data and notifications — all while sipping battery power. Fossil’s first Wear OS 3 smartwatch looks like a better (and cheaper) Pixel Watch Fossil today launched the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition, its first Wear OS 3 watch. It's a minor update on something we've already seen before, with the major non-aesthetic updates here being driven by the Fossil Wellness app. The Fossil Gen 6 is reasonably powerful. It's got a Snapdragon 4100+, 1 GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 1,3-inch AMOLED display — all wrapped in a 44mm chassis. The connectivity specs are here, with Bluetooth 5.0 and all the usual suspects. There's 3ATM water resistance and sensors for your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. These all play with the Wellness App and allow you to keep track of your vitals while exercising, sleeping, and passively. Fast charging is also included here, and it'll take your battery to 80% capacity in 30 minutes as with other Fossil watches.
