Tablets aren’t the hot devices they were once, innovative smartphones and stylish convertibles laptops have taken their place gradually. But still, tablets offer value to many and are popular as entertainment and/or working device. They carry the hardware of a mini laptop and many run on the same Android operating system as smartphones. In case you are looking for the best 4G tablet, Lenovo Tab E10 is the best option available in the market.

Lenovo tab E10 TB-X104L is a small and inexpensive 10.1-inch tablet that you can get at a reasonable price. It runs on a quad-core CPU paired with a decent memory and storage drive. It is slim, lightweight design make it an ideal choice for professionals who need a device to work on the go.

Lenovo E10 is arguably the cheapest tablet that you could buy from the market. We have evaluated its performance and design and have reviewed its strengths and weaknesses.

Design

Lenovo tab E10 is made of high-quality plastic, which is sturdy and can withstand everyday bumps and knocks. It only comes in black colour and weighs around 1.17lbs (0.53kg). For a 10-inch tablet, it is a bit hefty but you can easily carry around. It features two cameras, a 5MP rear and a 2MP front camera.

Both offer excellent image quality, works perfectly well and are good for video chat and skype calls. However, the image quality may deteriorate under direct sunlight and excessive light. Moreover, there are two speakers on the top that produce excellent sound quality, thanks to Dolby Atmos technology.

Considering its price, the Lenovo E10 has a reasonably pleasant design that is modest. Although it doesn’t catch the eyes, the device is easy to hold and its small size makes a perfect companion for travel vloggers.

Display

Lenovo tab E10 features a 10.1-inch wide HD display that comes with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800p. This is a satisfactory display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and acceptable resolution. It would have been better if Lenovo had offered an FHD display but the IPS technology makes up for this deficit.

The E10 tablet offers a decent display for its price and we were satisfied with the visual quality. However, the texts don’t appear to be sharp and look slightly dull as compared to premium tablets. Sadly, Lenovo has not laminated the display, so the reflection may irritate you when you are working under bright light.

In a nutshell, the display of Lenovo E10 is acceptable and pleasing, but not great. It would have been better with a laminated FHD display but of course, that would have lifted its price as well.

Connectivity

Port selection is a weak point for Lenovo E10 tablet as it lacks modern connectivity options. On the right side, it houses a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio connectivity. Whereas, its left side has a micro USB port, a microSD card reader slot, power button and volume controls. For wireless connectivity, Lenovo offers Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 connection.

Lenovo tab E10 lacks modern ports including a Type-C port and full-size USB ports. However, you can still connect peripherals and transfer data through the micro USB port.

Performance

The model we reviewed to evaluate the performance of Lenovo E10 came with the Qualcomm MSM8909 processor. This is a quad-core CPU that runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and provides a base frequency of 1.30GHz. It came with 16GB storage capacity and a 2GB RAM along with Qualcomm Adreno 304 graphics.

For its price, the E10 tablet has a satisfactory combination of hardware. It provided decent performance when we tested it for word processing, data analysis and web browsing. We didn’t experience any glitches when we were switching between tabs and data files. Moreover, we found the video quality pleasing when we streamed YouTube Videos and Netflix series on this slim tablet.

However, the components on Lenovo E10 also has some drawbacks that you must know about. The Qualcomm MSM8909 is a Snapdragon 210 chipset, which is an entry-level processor for small Android devices. Moreover, the Android version of this Lenovo tab is a less demanding one compared to modern tablets.

You can use it for entertainment, preparing presentations and everyday office tasks. However, this is not a device for multitasking, heavy media editing and you can’t enjoy a split-screen view on it. You must also keep an eye on the number of chrome tabs as it has a low memory. You can open a couple of tabs but if you open around a dozen tabs, you may have to reload the websites.

Gaming performance

This is obvious that Lenovo tab E10 is not a tablet for gaming. Heavy and highly demanding games, such as PUBG and fortnight won’t run on this tablet. We tried to run these games but the RAM capacity was not enough to support these modern warfare games. However, you can play them with lower settings but the graphics may thwart your experience.

You can play simple Android games on the E10 tablet, such as Temple Run, Subway Surfers and even Shadow of Death. You can enjoy casual gaming and pass your time if you want to take your mind off of work.

Battery life

Lenovo has equipped the E10 tab with a 4850mAh battery which it claims can offer up to 7 hours of battery life. Considering the battery power, this is a far-fetched claim, as we were only able to extract around 6 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Verdict

Lenovo Tab E10 is the cheapest tablet that you can get on the market. It is slim, small and can help you with everyday computing tasks. But like all cheap products, it has some drawbacks as well that you must keep in mind. It is not a tab for gaming, outdoor display isn’t good and the battery life is modest. Overall, it is a budget choice for those who need a tablet for word processing and video streaming.
