PaintTool SAI Full có những công cụ cơ bản mà người dùng có thể thấy ở những phần mềm vẽ như bút vẽ, cây cọ, màu nước, bút chì và một cái tẩy. Phần mềm này còn cung cấp thêm những tính năng cao cấp, giúp người dùng thỏa sức sáng tạo, ví như layer để bạn thêm các hiệu ứng tạo chiều sâu cho tác phẩm. Mặc dù giao diện của PaintTool SAI đơn giản và dễ sử dụng, việc học thành thạo tất cả các tính năng của nó cũng cần phải có thời gian, giống như những phần mềm vẽ khác.
Phần mềm này có thời gian dùng thử là 31 ngày. Trong thời gian dùng thử, bạn được sử dụng đầy đủ các chức năng của bản mất phí. Chức năng open/save sẽ bị vô hiệu hóa ngay lập tức sau khi hết thời hạn 31 ngày. Để tiếp tục sử dụng cần phải mua phần mềm với giá 53 USD.

Installation Note: The full installer of Ver.1.2.0 or later will install SAI Ver.1 into "C:\PaintToolSAI" in default settings. You can preserve brushes, textures, swatch and license certificate through which of following way. - Overwrite Ver.1.2.0(or later) to Ver.1.1.0 folder by installer of update files only. - Copy all folders, *.conf files, *.ssd files, *.slc file from Ver.1.1.0 folder to Ver.1.2.0(or later) folder.
CAUTION 1: On Windows Vista or later, please do not install SAI Ver.1 into "Program Files" folder because SAI Ver.1 may malfunction due to UAC.
CAUTION 2: SAI Ver.1 does not support high DPI monitors, and Windows 10 does not apply DPI scaling for SAI Ver.1. If you use SAI Ver.1 with a high DPI monitor, you have to change the screen resolution less than about 1920x1200.
CAUTION 3: WinTab drivers for N-trig pen tablet(e.g. The WinTab driver of Microsoft Surface) does not support WinTab API specification strictly. SAI Ver.1 does not work correctly with WinTab drivers for N-trig pen tablet in the default setting. It may work with WinTab drivers for N-trig pen tablet if you change "TabletMouseSimulation" to 1 from 0 in "misc.ini" in SAI's program folder.

Development Room Beta version of PaintTool SAI will be distributed in the following page if it is available.
Purchasing Software License After the 31 days trial period expired and if you'd like to continue using PaintTool SAI, you need to purchase a "Software License".
"Software License" is shipped as digital certificate. When your order is completed, you will receive download password for your software license certificate, and you can download your software license certificate from "Download Software License Certificate" page linked below.
if you downloading and installing your software license certificate to your SAI's program folder, you will remove trial limitation of SAI in current version 1.x.x, and you can use this version software without any trial limitation.
(This license include for all minor upgrade in current version 1.x.x, and not include major upgrade fee like ver.1.x.x to 2.x.x. Exceptionally, we will release SAI Ver.2 as free upgrade because we have canceled the improvement of SAI Ver.1.
