Hướng dẫn dùng fiio x3k làm dac

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote

Centrance DACportable has only USB connection, should I connect to FiiO X3ii USB port? Than what mode should be used in FiiO - line out or coax?

I don't believe the X3II will transmit a signal out the micro usb port so I don't believe you can use it with your DAC if it only has a USB input. To my knowledge, the only way the X3II can be used as a transport is through the LO port and you would set the port in the settings menu.

It can but you have to be on firmware version 1.4 or older.

I've only used the LO to transport to an amp so have no experience using it as a transport. I also use it as a stand alone DAC for my PC. Never used the usb port to transmit to another DAC. Is that in the settings? TBH, I didn't know it could do that out the usb.

If you're on an older firmware version yes it would be in the settings. Like I said you have to be on firmware 1.4 or older. FiiO removed this feature in the newer firmware.

Lots of misinformation happening here.

First, the line-out bypasses the amp, not the DAC, so you are not using the FiiO as a transport this way. The only way to use the FiiO as a transport (bypassing the DAC and amp) to send a digital bitstream to an external DAC is to use the coaxial output.

Second, the OTG feature that was available on FW1.4 and previous was for USB storage, not for USB audio output. I'm afraid that you simply can't output a digital bitstream through the USB connection of the X3ii, it simply isn't set up to do that.

Edit: As FiiO pointed out below you can output a digital signal through USB to one of their docks, the K5 or DK1. This does not make it compatible with USB OTG audio output.

This is what I thought. Thanks for clarifying. It was the first I'd heard of transmitting out through the micro usb port.

Sorry my bad. I just read it had OTG and assumed it did audio as well.

No worries, just keeping it straight.

Hi, fourrobert13 1. Yes, if you want to use the X3II with a DAC, you need to use the coaxial output but not lineout/headphone out. The signal form lineout/headphone out is already analog signal.

2. The mic USB port can transport signal when plugging into the dock of K5/DK1.

3. If you want the OTG function, maybe you need to flash back to FW1.4 or previous. We have disabled this to improve device detection in storage and DAC mode by the computer.

Hi. Do you have favorite custom EQ settings for the X3 2nd gen? I am asking because because I tried all the presets and they sound pretty horrible to me, all of them. Any ideas?

I like the custom eq where all the sliders are in the middle.

Ok, tongue out of cheek.

Really it does not matter what settings we like. Its the settings that you like that matters.

Didn't get a reply last time so I'm gonna try asking again.

Has anybody got the X3 II working as a DAC with an Android device with USB-C? I tried about 5 different USB-C to micro USB cables and adapters, and the X3 didn't recognise any of them. The best I could get was charging, but the X3 never went into DAC mode. Using FW1.4.

Hello there, i own a DX50 and also recently purchased a Fiio X3ii. I found both of these DAP are very different, but i found that the X3ii are lagging, or slow as i was playing radiohead - MK1 song, towards the end, the vocals are out of place. You know Thom Yorke always sings like a choir with lots of delays. Can someone highlight on this? The Fiio X3ii has more clarity and very precise in the staging, very revealing but i found that it is too fatiguing for me to listen through it. I dont have any issues with DX50. I also compared the same track, with both DAP, but still the track sound so different, with X3ii out of place.

Not defending the X3ii, as mine is up for sale, having moved up the FiiO ladder, but you must have spotted something very fundamental that many reviewers have missed.

Or its something which is peculiar to his unit, or possibly even the file.

The X3ii is basically my tool for reviewing - has been for almost 2 years. I know my library intimately - especially my reviewing tracks. That behaviour
