Ford inaugurated the F-Series for the 1948 model year and is now looking to celebrate 75 years of production with a Heritage Edition. It's based on the F-150 in the XLT trim level and comes with some retro touches harkening back to the 1970s and 1980s. Specifically, the workhorse can be had with two-tone paint jobs where the roof, pillars, bumpers, lower door, and lower body come in one color while the other hue is used for the midsection.
Customers will get to pick from the following five combinations:
- Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray;
- Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black;
- Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray;
- Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black;
- Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black.
The Ford F-Series light-duty pickup trucks were introduced way back in 1948. It’s a name that has become synonymous with the American pickup truck, especially the Ford F-150, which was first introduced in 1975 and has since become America’s best-selling truck ever! If you were born in the 1970s or 1980s or grew up watching 70s and 80s flicks, you’d have seen how the first Ford F-150 trucks looked. The 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition is a modern take on the timeless 1970s and ’80s two-tone exterior paint jobs and classic styling of the F-150 combined with the outstanding durability, capability, and technology of today’s F-150 that customers love.
The 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition will be available exclusively on the F-150 XLT series of trucks. Its design represents a fresh take on the classic A-B-A exterior paint pattern seen on the F-150 from the 1970s and ’80s.
In this unique color pattern, the roof and pillars will be finished in an “A” color option; a “B” color covers the midsection, while the bumpers, lower door, and lower body are again finished in the “A” color.

2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition Exterior Color Options
As per a Ford press release, the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition will be available in five A-B-A exterior color options:
- Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition Interior
The 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition’s interior offerings come in slate gray color and black to complement the expressive exterior colors.
The Heritage Edition also features distinct seat trim covers featuring unique inserts. An F-Series Heritage Edition embossing on the console lid further enhances the uniqueness of the F-150 Heritage Edition.
A white “75 Years” logo also appears on the upper center windshield, the center screen startup animation, and the center console. Apart from these cosmetic changes, the technical specs are identical to the F-150 XLT.
